Core Technology Support Engineer
Core Technology Support Engineer Description: Candidate will serve on Inkjet Printing Solutions' Technology & Operations Support Team. Primary duties will consist of support of customers in the successful adoption of Inkjet Printing Solutions' core inkjet technology (printheads, fluid systems, and fluids). The successful candidate will support 1 inch, 2 inch, 4 inch, 9 inch, and new products. The incumbent's primary mission is to ensure customer satisfaction and to avoid IPS' printhead No-Charge-Refurb costs by investigating and solving inkjet related problems and operator training deficiencies. The incumbent shall project Engineering expertise into the field and bring information back from the field to Engineering, and facilitate and champion technical problem resolution. This activity includes developing inkjet operations "best practices", 3rd level technical support, being the liaison between Engineering & regional service, reviewing technical manuals, and authoring of technical documents pertaining to any aspect of the system. Key Responsibilities: Collateral duties include but are not limited to auditing returned printheads, and providing new customers "Operator Coach" support on a rotating basis, at assigned sites, for the entire system. Methodical approach to understanding customer workflow and quality goals, then translate them into successful system operations Extremely strong verbal and written English communication skills, including the ability to write technical procedures for system operations ~50% domestic and international travel, sometimes for extended periods, including week-ends Strong foundation in mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and fluidic technology Excellent customer empathy Strong investigative skills to collect and communicate data to Engineering, for problem resolution and design improvement Very organized in capturing customer/equipment problems and championing their solutions Strong ability to collect and communicate data to Engineering, for problem resolution and design improvement Fluency in any language other than English a plus QUALIFICATIONS: Qualifications: Minimum Associates Degree in Engineering Mechanics 2-6 years expereince with strong customer service skills in a related position Availability for ~50% domestic and international travel, sometimes for extended periods including weekends Fluency in another language in addition to English a plus
