Joy Mining Machinery, a recognized global leader in the development and production of leading edge technology and high quality machinery used by the underground mining industry, has an immediate opening at our facility in Franklin, PA for a DESIGNER.  This position works closely with design originators to prepare specifications suitable for use by manufacturing process with regards to specifications originating from this position, then this position will facilitate resolutions.

Requirements include an A.S. Degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent, and CAD solid modeling capibilities using software such as AutoDesk Inventor or equivalent.

The incumbent will prepare design layouts, models and other engineering specifications for production use to fill customer orders or development requirements, develop information for use at sales presentations, review current designs or specific components as assigned for cost reduction, provide information for creation of technical reports and service bulletins, meet with suppliers concerning changes to or new requirement for their products, perform engineering calculations of a basic nature, set up and perform engineering tests of machine components as directed, develop awareness of and familiarity with Global, MSHA, and state regulations applying to Joy products, provide technical assistance to and liaison with manufacturing with respect to specifications originating from self.
