Data Quality Analyst at TiVo

TiVo’s Media and Advertising division is responsible for developing cutting edge advertising solutions for Digital Video Recorders. As part of this process large datasets are analyzed to produce reports for our internal and external customers on viewing behavior of DVR households. These reports are critical for our external customers and also used internally for decision making process. All data is anonymous or gathered with viewer's explicit permission.

As Data Quality Analyst, you will be responsible for validating the accuracy of new reports and ensuring integrity of the data feed for an existing reporting and research database. The job requires analyzing the effect of new TiVo software releases on the data feeds, scoping and creating test plans for maintaining the Data Quality Service Level.

Here’s what you’ll get to do:

Review product requirements for new TiVo software releases and analyze its effect on the data feeds and reporting system. This includes scoping the effort for qualifying new features while performing regression testing on existing reporting capabilities. Review new reporting requirements and create test plans for validating the database queries and formulas used in creating such reports. Understand and account for downstream reporting implications that may be impacted as a result of changes to the data feeds, including maintaining specification for the data feeds. Create, publish and execute test plans. Work with software and database release teams to reproduce bugs and verify fixes. Investigate potential data quality issues on an ongoing basis while Identifying opportunities to improve business processes that impact data qualityHere is what you’ll need to be successful:
At least 4 years of experience in Data Quality Analysis Strong understanding of Relational Database Management System Strong SQL experience Technical support experience in troubleshooting system and data-related problems Excellent verbal and written skills with strong documentation skills University degree in computers science or related engineering background Unix and Windows OS experience (Unix preferred) Demonstrated experience in working with broad cross-functional teams Ability to prioritize and handle projects effectively Work experience with full SDLC
