Department Manager - Water Wastewater

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering Field. Minimum 10 years extensive and diverse experience in major water/wastewater design projects. Missouri Registered PE with/or ability to get Illinois Professional Engineers License. Profecieny in MS word and Excel a requirement. Experience working with municipalities and performing water/wastewater design;experience managing projects for the Metropolitan St Louis Sewer District; sales and marketing experience. Job Description : Successful candidate will act as the group manager/leader for the Water/Wastewater Group in the St. Louis office, addressing technical issues and accountable for the delivery of designs to high technical standards. Successful candidate will assist in building on teamwork and technical staff development on some of the most challenging and complex infrastructure projects in the country.Initially employee will spend a significant amount of time becoming acquainted with company and local water/wastewater resources to produce a viable business plan for water/wastewater design and ancillary services. Within approximately three months of starting, employee will need to spend approximately 60% of their time on project related work, 20% on sales and marketing, and 20% on management related tasks. Will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Water/Wastewater Group, including business development within the St. Louis Metropolitan area, participating in professional organizations, participating in the URS National Water/Wastewater Business Line, as well as technical design and management of water/wastewater infrastructure projects. Job tasks will include effectively managing all aspects of project under direction; ensuring corporate QA/QC procedures, HR procedures; managing budget issues proactively; meeting designated budgets and schedules; being cognizant of need to consistently maintain sold time goals for yourself and staff; working with staff within the St. Louis office and in other offices to ensure that workload and staffing issues are addressed; identifying tasks for other staff and effectively delegating; consistently generating new work for both yourself and other staff in the department/office; marketing and business development; directing project teams; client presentations; seeking out and hiring additional staff; mentoring junior staff and the unique opportunity of leading and expanding a water/wastewater design group.xurs17x : : EOE M/F/D/V
