Deputy Prorject Lead for US Navy Ship Modernization Program

Synergy Search, a retained executive search firm, is seeking a self starter with a technical engineering background to support the program office for a new U.S. Navy ship acquisition program.  The selected candidate will report to the Automation & Controls program lead and interface with U.S. Navy civilian engineering technical leads, program office managers, outside contractors, and industry representatives.

 

This position is with our client, an established engineering consulting firm, in their Philadephia, PA office.

 

Responsibilities:

Ø      Taking ownership of managing contractor requests for technical clarifications on new ship acquisition program

Ø      Interfacing with technical leads to supply quick turnaround in clarifying technical specifications to contractors

Ø      Coordinating and managing team calendar to support attendance of technical meetings and subsequent action item follow-up

Ø      Consolidating all technical inputs and drafting weekly Controls & Automation Status Report

 

 

Requirements:                       

Ø      Self starter, able to work independently with little supervision, mult-tasker, proactive

Ø      Technical Engineering degree preferred

Ø      Great communication skills – able to work with technical people and influence their busy schedules to meet program requirements

Ø      Excellent writing skills – able to read detailed technical status reports, articulate the key elements and consolidate into 2-3 sentence bullet points 

Ø      US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and hold a Secret Clearance

Ø      Current Active Secret Clearance a definite plus

Ø      Ability to travel  10-20%

Ø      Prior ship yard experience working as a Port Engineer a definite plus.

Ø      Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel experience – enjoys working on the computer
