Alliant Techsystems (ATK)-Tactical Propulsion and Controls Systems has a challenging opportunity for an entry level Design Drafter in Elkton, MD. This Division of ATK specializes in the production of tactical propulsion systems. Responsibilities: The Design Drafter will interpret engineering input from rough sketches, vendor data, hand written notes, verbal instructions or electronic files. Will plan, layout, draw, and revise detailed part, assembly and arrangements of electro-mechanical drawings. Determine scaling, centering and dimension lines, hidden line interpolations, sections, formulate notes, build parts lists and apply item call outs in the field of drawings while preparing engineering documents conforming to established drafting standards. Duties will include preparation of Engineering Change Orders and incorporating the approved engineering changes into affected drawings using both CAD and manual drafting practices. Perform other duties as assigned; these duties may include supporting engineering reproduction area distributing prints and filing engineering documents.Requirements:Associates Degree inTechnical Drafting and Design or two or more years of equivalent professional experience is required.Candidates should have ability to use CAD drafting systems (IDEAS or PRO-E desired). Candidate must demonstrate a desire to expand job related knowledge andpresent strong interpersonal and customer service skills.Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
