Design Engineer – HydraulicsConstruction/Earthmoving Equipment Responsibilities:1. Conducts design and development engineering assignments involving major projects to create high value products for our customers. Including standardization of parts and components to minimize costs. Develop technologies and source components to meet design criteria and improve value.2. Investigate and resolve field issues to understand and maximize the reliability of new products.3. Support production, service, sales and marketing for assigned products to provide efficient clear communications to all markets.4. Conducts the BOM (bill of material), SFR (special feature request), RDC (request for design), ECN (engineering change notice) processes to clearly communicate engineering data throughout a worldwide organization.5. Develop clear documentation or the design process, considerations and results to ensure a clear understanding of the proposal and recommendations.6. Prepare and present R&D data in meetings to inform senior officials of progress and recommendations that support business plan decisions.7. Work with allied manufacturers of attachments to assure maximum compatibility of their products and expand company products into niche markets. Job Requirements: 1. B.S.M.E. and 4 years experience on construction/heavy industrial machinery design, or associate degree and 8 years experience.2. As a Hydraulic Specialist a through knowledge of layout piping, routing, schematic design, fluid dynamic analysis, closed and open loop transmissions and actuator systems is essential. Improvement and planning of hydraulic system schematic, component selection and performance through cooperative work with Hydraulic Equipment Technical Center in Japan and vendors is required.3. Two years experience in the development of complete unit designs, including systems integration, structure, component selection and specification, and performance matching. 4. Understand the principals of hydraulics, mechanics, electricity, electronics, physics, ad thermodynamics. 5. Working knowledge of product specifications together with strong ability to conceptualize, create, interpret, read and improve engineering drawings, files, BOM and instructions.6. Strong communication skills to be able to communicate effectively across multiple language barriers.7. Proficient in use of PRO-E to include large assembly management, modeling and drafting. Experience with Routed System Designer of similar package preferred. Familiar with SAE, ISO and applicable standards for earthmoving equipment. Position reports to Chief EngineerInteracts daily with design engineers, Test Engineers, Sales, Service, Marketing, Product planning in Japan, as well as multiple locations in the USA.
