We are currently seeking an experienced Design Engineer – Industrial at our Chino, CA location.



This position encompasses the following :

The Design Engineer, Industrial at Chino will drive the development of Retail Solutions products. This person will conduct the product design from an industrial standpoint for RSA products under the supervision of the Lead Engineer, Industrial. This person will assume technical responsibility for the new product development, productivity and sustaining engineering in the site ensuring continuing design and development of quality product solutions while meeting the cost, quality and on-time delivery targets.

Design and develop products using Climate Control New Product Development Processes (NPD) on a cost effective basis to realize product plan objectives in partnership with Global Retail Solutions Engineering Principals for Core Products.
Apply technical and practical knowledge of industrial design fundamentals to ensure Retail Solutions products conform to cost and performance specifications, and that all products conform to local, and regional safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Evaluate/test systems and components for reliability, safety and performance and make recommendations for improvements.
Maintain orderly project records and unit bills of material. Communicate and document work progress as required through verbal and written means.
Implement material productivity (VAVE) initiatives as determined by annual goals. May also be responsible for leading small to mid scale projects.
Work closely with end customers and sales force to develop specialty solutions. Provide technical guidance and recommendations in dealing with complex customer solutions in thermal applications.
Work closely with Operations Management, Sourcing Managers and MPO/PMO RSA to achieve manufacturing productivity and low-cost-country sourcing initiatives.
Assist the Lead Engineer in the maintenance of current knowledge of structural engineering and technological developments that could be useful and relevant to the business.



Qualifications :

Bachelors Degree in Industrial Design
5 years experience with a proven track record or successful and high performance execution in a substantial design and product development function.
