Drafting and design using Unigraphics NX4, Pro-E and AutoCAD.
Layout new designs and create ideas that reduce cost and improve reliability.
Provides solutions to problems that occur on prototypes in shop manufacturing and assembly.
Creating/revising casting, welding and machining drawings.
Structuring bills of material to fit manufacturing process. Involves using MfgPro software to create, edit and query bills of material.
Processing drawing change requests.
Works with vendors in the selection of components.
Works with sales and service as required.
Lead project design tasks from concept through completion.

Min. Yrs. Experience: 7 years
Education Type: AA or equiv. related technical courses.

Minimum 7 years machine design experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Individual may be required to show examples of work.
Mechanical drafting experience a must, electrical drafting highly desirable.
Basic knowledge in mechanical systems desirable.
Must be proficient in three-dimensional layout.
Familiarity with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics desirable.
CAD proficiency. Must be able to perform solid modeling and drafting with Solid Edge and/or Unigraphics as well as 2D AutoCAD and demonstrate ability.
Must be familiar with bills of material (BOM) structure and must experience in updating BOMs in MfgPro or an equivalent computer data base software system.
Must possess excellent communication skills.
Must have the ability to work with technical and non-technical employees and outside vendors/suppliers.
Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing per ANSI Y14.5 a must.
Must be familiar with weld symbols and practices.
Experience with welding, casting, and machining processes desirable.
Experience in prototype production and testing methods desirable.
Must be flexible and decisive in solving problems in a fast-paced production environment.
