Position Description:
Lead the design of food application equipment through extensive experience, superior design skills and CAD capability. Serve as primary technical liason for Linde in cases where external design resources are utilized for food equipment projects. Insure accuracy of design calculations, drawings, specifications and bills of materials for Linde’s line of cryogenic food freezing equipment.Deliver completed drawings to fabricator per project schedule to allow on time equipment delivery Alter existing designs for product updating or to meet the requirements of a strategic customer in the industrial food sector. Participate in quality control activities at fabricator and start-up activities at customer site. Develop Linde drawing standards for application equipment in order to ensure that welding specs, tolerances, fabrication techniques, materials, configurations, and dimensions are well-documented. Maintain control and issuance of design drawings, ensure that all project drawings, whether developed internally or via an external contractor, conform to Linde standards and are recorded as built in a timely and accurate fashion. Provide technical guidance to Linde Field Engineering personnel and any outside contractor enlisted to provide design assistance.Manage development of technical manuals for all equipment builds
Position Requirements: 5 to 7 years experience designing industrial food equipment, and/or cryogenic equipment is highly desirable. At minimum, a 2 year associates degree in mechanical design. A demonstrated, applied knowledge of sanitary/ hygienic design for food processing equipment Capable of working weekends and/or holiday as needed to meet project schedules.Thorough understanding of sanitary/hygienic design standards for the food industry as applied to food processing equipment.Good communication skills.Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.Exceptional time/ task organizational abilities.Demonstrated ability to establish strong working relationships with co-workers across a Multitude of business units, and with external design contractors.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Well-versed in the use of at least one type of 3D CAD program (AutoCAD Inventor, Solidworks, etc…)Excellent work ethic.
