Detail/Designer

WesTech Engineering, Inc. is a $100 million supplier of process equipment for water, wastewater and industrial applications.  WesTech has grown to become one of the major suppliers in the process equipment industry worldwide and has offices in China, Brazil, and here in the United States. 

We currently have an opening for a Detail/Designer.

Brief description of essential job functions:
Produce structural/mechanical detail drawings for water/wastewater treatment equipment.  Detail layouts of shop fabrication drawings - checking of the same.

Description of key responsibilities:
Takes instruction from several co-workers.  Communicates current work load and estimates drawing time.  Make changes to existing drawings according to mark-ups.  Some clerical duties, clean work area.

Special knowledge, skills and abilities:
Production oriented and self directed and motivated. Drafting using AutoCAD with 2008 experience.  Strong math (trigonometry/geometry).  Shop experience a plus, (layout, welding, fabrication, piping).  Working knowledge of AISC steel construction manual.  Key member of the project team working closely with project manager(s) and group sales/applications engineer.  Ability to see three dimensional objects on two dimensions.  Pro Engineer, inventor and solid works software knowledge a plus.

Experience and Education:
1-2 years detail drafting a plus.  Two year associates degree in design and drafting.
