Alliant Techsystems (ATK)-Tactical Propulsion and Controls Systems has a challenging opportunity for aDirector, Business Development in Baltimore, MD. This Division ofATK specializes in the production of tactical propulsion systems.The Director, Business Development will provide composites business development vision and leadership to TPC, strategically positioning the company to gain market share in this growing market. This position is responsible for formulating TPC marketing and business development strategies through identification of market direction and trends, with a focus on short and long-term implementation. Responsibilities also include providing management and leadership of business development activities in support of the composites segment Business Strategy Team. The Director, Business Development will manage the TPC Marketing and Bid and Proposal (B&P), and IRAD budgets, the new business capture processes, and proposal development activities for the composites segment. The incumbent will recommend and advocate Internal Research and Development (IR&D) and corporate Enterprise Program investments to BST leads. This position will assist TPC Program Managers with current and follow-on program advocacy to protect and grow legacy business. The Director, Business Development will be responsible for developing and executing market strategies/plans to pursue and win contracts with DoD, Commercial, and International customers.Requirements:BS in Engineering or related field. MS/MBS is desirable. Minimum of 10 years experience in Business Development/Marketing roles with aircraft, space, and/or ground platforms utilizing composite structural components. Candidates must have demonstrated leadership in growing a composites market segment. Candidates must demonstrate contacts within the composites supplier and customer base communities. Knowledge of composites manufacturing processes and equipment is required.
