Director, Environmental and Public Affairs

Position Summary: The Director, Environmental and Public Affairs directs environment and public affairs activities within the Region ready mix and aggregates business. Advises the Region President as to issues/progress in achieving Corporate and Region based environment/public affairs goals and objectives with emphasis on achieving best in class environmental permitting and compliance performance and developing a positive and recognizable presence in Region political activities on business issues relevant to CEMEX. Reports to the Region President with strong dotted line relationships to the Corporate (USA) environment and government affairs officials as well as the Corporate General Counsel. Essential Duties / Responsibilities: Identifies/develops environmental goals and objectives and prepares plans and budgets to successfully achieve Manages a staff of CEMEX professionals and outside consultants to support and achieve the agreed to goals and objectives Assists in the development and directs the regional deployment of Corporate environmental initiatives and objectives Supports the Region site development and operational activities through environmental due diligence activities, permit acquisition/renewals and compliance assurance Identifies new region based environmental legislation/rulemaking and acts as necessary to positively influence the outcome and implements measures to comply Identifies environmental risks in the business and puts plans in place to reduce, minimize or eliminate the risks Routinely reports on environment performance to Region and Corporate executives Advise Region executive team on business adverse or business positive legislation under consideration and develop plans to positively affect outcome Raise campaign funds to support the election/re-election of business friendly candidates Assist in the development and passage of legislation that promotes the business interests of CEMEX Hire and direct the actions of government consultants to achieve desired legislative outcomes Participate in various public/government affairs networks on Region basis that positively promote the business interests of CEMEX  Director, Environmental and Public Affairs Job Title: Director, Environmental and Public Affairs Company: CEMEX Location: Sacramento, CA Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Engineering Career Level: Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Company: CEMEX
