Director, Product Marketing - Solid State Lighting

Luminus Devices is the worldwide leader in ultra-high power and brightness LEDs. Since the initial launch of the first LED based projection TV in 2006, Luminus’ PhlatLight™ LEDs have revolutionized the micro-display projection market. Now, Luminus is expanding its product offerings into wider markets.

 

The Director of Product Marketing is a key leadership position.  Solid State Lighting is responsible for setting and meeting challenging goals for Luminus expansion into the solid state lighting markets. Together with a team of Product Line Managers, this individual will develop and drive the implementation of the product roadmap, engage with key customers and distributors, and create a profitable product portfolio enabling rapid growth for the company.



Duties/Responsibilities:

§ Excellent knowledge of the LED and lighting industries

§ Ability to timely recognize market trends, and to develop strategies to create new markets

§ Effectively communicate with customers, the Luminus organization and other stakeholders

§ Energetic personality with leadership qualities

Principle Activities

§ Develop one to 3 year product roadmap

§ Develop and maintain detailed product portfolio plan, including implementation timelines and go-to-market strategy

§ Perform regular competitive analysis, oversee competitive product analysis, and determine product positioning

§ In a team with product line managers, develop product requirements

§ Analyze cost and market pricing to drive pricing strategy, prepare ROI analyses for new products

§ Initiate New Product Introduction in collaboration with product line managers

§ Define requirements for collateral materials, and oversee creation and maintenance

§ Build key customer and distributor relationships and support customers in their product development

 



Minimum Qualification Required: (when qualifications include education or equivalent, define equivalent)

§ 7+ years product management experience in LED or lighting industry

§ Deep understanding of LED technology and applications

§ Solid leadership style and management experience, strong analytical skills

§ Independent, self-motivated, and able to convince others

§ Excellent written and oral communication skills

§ Willingness to travel frequently

§ BA/BS degree in engineering or similar
