Job Description



 

Hawaii based manufacturer of advanced materials is seeking an accomplished leader in the field of optical design and manufacture to head their business development efforts.  Individual will be responsible for managing existing programs and developing new business for programs with new and exciting technology.  This is a ground floor opportunity with enormous growth potential.  Relocation may not be required.

 

Qualifications: Technical knowledge in optomechanics and strong knowledge of design for manufacturing (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.)Demonstrated business development success in a highly technical arena; must be able to talk with consumers about optical applicationsAble to identify applications where a competitive advantage existsAbility to manage a supply chainBachelor’s degree (graduate degree preferred) in optics-related disciplineAble to travel 25-50%, depending on locationUS citizenship with ability to obtain secret clearance REQUIRED

Desired skills: Experience with SiC and/or CVD Track record of winning competitive research awards (e.g. BAA, SBIR, STTR, etc.)Well connected in one or more target industries (esp. DoD/NASA and related Primes)
