Division Business Manager
Position Description:
In this position, you will be responsible for leading the management of the financial portfolio and administrative operations of a large technology division. As an integral member of the Division's management team, serves as assistant to Division Head in all aspects of the non-technical operations of the Division. The focal point for ensuring compliance with Government contract and Laboratory Business Rules across the Division. Responsible to recruit, train, coach, mentor, assign and direct Business resources to support Laboratory technical groups. May lead or contribute to the development and institutionalization of templates, tools, plans and processes to enable financial analysis and reporting at program, group, division and inter-divisional levels. Must understand and have working knowledge of financial and business planning, effective work breakdown structure use, estimating processes, project set-up, scheduling, budgeting, program reviews, reports and program closeouts. Will be responsible for ongoing use and enhanced implementation of Laboratory wide SAP system for financial transactions and status as well as related processes. May be responsible for contributing to the ongoing enhancement of the Lab-wide Business Management training program. Position is responsible for oversight of the division wide secretarial support staff. Must have a demonstrated history of highest integrity and professionalism and ability to make sound decisions with available/limited information. May coordinate actions with Human Resources and other service departments as required. Will promote qualities of workforce and mentor individuals to excell. May also mentor less experienced individuals for Business Management careers. Can work in an ambiguous and often conflicting environment. Must demonstrate sound management practices and be able to provide same day/ short time turnaround for key responses for decision making. Able to anticipate and effectively plan for changing requirements and be willing to make decisions to create opportunities and mitigate risk. Will look for and introduce new ways to improve performance and achieve commitments. Will work toward building skills and experience base in a variety of settings to include special projects and/or assignments. Will apply tools and methodologies to continually improve processes and resolves issues. Willingly participates in and/or leads projects. Will display ability to effectively balance own time as well as available resources to address changing priorities.Requirements:MS/MBA in Business/Financial Management or related field or equivalent experience. Ten+ years of experience in financial management and overseeing administrative operations and progressive responsibility in business related area to include supervisory and management responsibilities. Supervisory experience in leading teams of professionals to provide financial support to large organizations is critical. Experience in financial analysis, use of financial databases and strong systems proficiency required. Familiarity with management of projects and government contracting required. Proficient computer skills across a wide application of use essential. Clear and effective writing and presentation skills to a wide audience critical, as are excellent interpersonal skills. Understanding of Government financial processes a plus. Top Secret clearance eligibility required. Able to work effectively across groups, functions and departments, both internally and externally. Exhibits high level of integrity and professionalism. Must be highly self motivated & strongly analytical. Must have the ability to achieve goals and targets while performing multiple tasks. Understands requirements: prioritizes, organizes and monitors progress to achieve objectives. Must be capable of supervising and leading a team.
