For more information on our locations click on please see http://www.chevron.com/operationsChevron North America Exploration and Production Company is accepting online applications for the position of Drilling Engineer in Anchorage, Alaska.Position Overview:The Drilling Engineering position is primarily responsibility for new drills, re-drills, and workovers in the Cook Inlet Basin of South Central Alaska (offshore/onshore) and or exploration wells on the Alaska North Slope. Other duties will include contract management, performance tracking, writing SOPs, DSM relief, and Drilling Superintendent relief. This position will work with a multi-disciplinary team to develop drilling programs, AFEs, and fit-for-purpose well designs and will assist the Superintendent in day to day execution activities. The Drilling Engineer will also support HSE in all aspects. Qualifications:Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:• Keep the team focused on execution of efficient plan with zero HES incidents as a primary goal. • Works with cross functional teams to develop well designs and plans.• Supports Superintendent and Field during execution of well work plans.• Foster excellent relationships with suppliers. • Maintain excellent relationships with regulatory agencies. • Exhibits Clear Leader behaviorsRequired Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree required in Engineering• A minimum of 8-10 years of directly related experience• Demonstrated experience in drilling engineering, well design, time and cost estimating, writing of drilling programs. • Demonstrated experience in drilling operations, safe work practices and procedures.• Works well with others in a mutli-functional team environment. • Strong network capability and desire to seek the best solution and practices. • Good organizational and engineering /analytical skills.
