We are seeking an Environmental Seller/Doer to develop and grow a private sector environmental consulting business in the greater Boston metro area. We will look to you to: · Develop and implement business strategies, conduct sales efforts in the environmental remediation and/or consulting practice, prepare for bidding opportunities and develop proposals. · Act as the project or program manager and main client contact for any work attained, including - Ensuring timely, quality, and cost-effective work - Maintaining effective client communications - Collecting receivables Experience managing environmental investigations under large government contracts (e.g., Navy CLEAN, EPA, etc.) is desirable since the successful candidate may be requested to support existing contracts while actively pursuing new contract opportunities. Candidates must have proven experience in environmental engineering project management, and will demonstrate an ability to apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of particular fields of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: · BS degree or equivalent in any of the multi-disciplined environmental sciences, engineering, or geologic sciences required. · MS degree or equivalent in any of the multi-disciplined environmental sciences, engineering, or geologic sciences (desirable). · MBA in business administration (desirable). · Registration or certification (highly desirable). · Twelve (12) plus years experience. · High-end consulting experience in more than one environmental area is desirable. ESSENTIAL SKILLS: · Possess recent contacts in the Boston region that will facilitate private sector sales growth. · Ability to attract and retain private sector clients in the greater Boston region, and build backlog, revenue, profit, direct labor and ROI over time. · Possess program and project management capabilities and experience effectively balancing direct and indirect utilization rates · High level of written and oral communication skills. · Ability to work and collaborate with employees at all levels and disciplines. · Ability to succeed in a team oriented organization interfacing with a variety of different groups to accomplish project objectives. · Experience in recruiting, screening, and hiring skilled personnel a plus. · Ability to mentor and develop junior staff. · High-energy leader with excellent business sense. · Strong presence and presentation skills. · Team builder. · Sets high personal goals and is motivated towards achievement. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to effectively present information, communicate, and respond to questions. Ability to read, research, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical documents and procedures, and government regulations. Ability to write detailed reports, business correspondence, and SOPs. The successful candidate must have the ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints and the ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics. Ability to read and interpret financial documents and work with all mathematical concepts. Ability to apply mathematical concepts. Candidates must have experience with applicable computer systems including, but not limited to; Microsoft Office Suite programs (i.e., Word, Project, Excel, and Access or related database software).
