Electrical Designer/PE

FEA Consulting Engineers is an industry leader and preferred provider of MEP engineering for large scale hospitality, retail and commercial projects and has an immediate opening for an Electrical Designer/PE. Our firm offers an excellent salary package and competitive benefits including Medical/Dental insurance and 401k.  In addition to base salary, a bonus program is offered.  Relocation costs will also be considered.  Opportunities are available in our Las Vegas and Nashville offices.

 

Responsibilities:

·  Design and specify medium voltage (15 kV) and low voltage (600V) distribution systems for large scale hospitality, retail, high rise residential and commercial projects

·  Prepare electrical construction documents including lighting, power and auxiliary plans, single line diagrams and electrical schedules

·  Review electrical submittals and shop drawings

·  Utilize software such as SKM Power Tools, EDSA, and lighting design software for electrical design

·  Provide technical guidance to CAD Operators

·  Prepare load calculations, fault calculations and voltage drop calculations

·  Prepare selective device coordination and load flow studies

·  Conduct field surveys and commissioning of electrical system design

·  Prepare cost estimates and opinions of probable construction costs for electrical  system designs

 

Desired Education and Experience:

·  Minimum of 3 – 5 years of electrical design experience in a consulting environment

·  B.S. in Electrical Engineering or closely related field

·  Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE)

·  Strong presentation skills

·  Excellent project management skills

·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·  Experienced in using Excel and AutoCAD for preparing construction documents

·  Ability to manage the design of several large projects
