Seeking an Electrical Engineer to support Electrical Design group.  Successful candidate will be required to perform activities in the office while assuming at least one field trip for 4 weeks duration.

 

Electrical Design Work

Brief Description of the Work Package:

 

The Orion program is in their Preliminary Design phase. Support in the Electrical Design area is required to support the aggressive schedule.  The Engineer will perform tasks outlined in the following description:

 

Space programs require applied stress derating analysis which are less than the maximum ratings for electrical components to increase reliability and allow for margin with modeled thermal, power and radiation environments. The specific task is to transform an existing list of EEE part component derating criteria equations, which were based upon Mil-Std-975  and SSP30312 derating plans, to the Orion imposed criteria of CEV-T-027000. This output will serve as a template for electrical engineers to use to support the actual parts application analysis for each electrical assembly. The current method utilizes an Excel spreadsheet to list part types and applicable derating criteria with their equations as a database of those criteria. These equations, part numbers, prohibitions, limitations and associated characteristics shall be updated for the new Orion criteria.Additionally, new part types shall be added as designs evolve.The equations shall be validated/tested for each of the derated conditions to insure accuracy. This validation could be in the form of a mock Parts Application Analysis that test each of the conditions.

Task Requirements:

 

· Develop the initial understanding of the applicable derating specifications,  Excel file and the task activities at the Windsor Locks facility.  Assume one trip for 4 weeks duration. 

 

· Remaining task activities to be performed at the supplier’s facility for the duration.

 

· Functions required:  Electrical design
