Electrical Substation Designer

Position Description:

This position will offer you the opportunity to work in a project team environment with engineers and other designers involved in high voltage substation design. Your responsibilities will include: •Preparation of the following design deliverables based on input from substation engineers: -Substation Plan & Section Drawings -Substation Grounding Plan & Details -Substation Material List -Substation Control House Plan & Section Drawings -Substation Below Grade Conduit & Raceway Drawings -Cable Tabulation (Schedule)•Review of design deliverables prepared by other designers•Providing technical guidance and mentoring to new designers•Interpreting and incorporating vendor information into design deliverables.•Walkdowns at client substation facilities.

Qualifications:

Requires minimum 5 years experience in substation physical design for high voltage substations (138kV and above). Direct expersience in the Southern California Reqion Utilities is an advantage. Software skills: MicroStation and Autocad are required.
