Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/V/D Job Summary including Duties and Responsibilities: This candidate requires aclassical engineering degree with a basic knowledge of solid rocket motors and their performance. A strong technical background for making complex technical decisions is necessary. A background in fluid dynamics and thermodynamics with analysis of ballistic performance using computer codes is desired. The candidate must be able to work in a team environment, have good communication skills for presentations to upper management and to customers, and be highly self-motivated to work independently and in teams. The candidate needs to be able to analyze and resolve technical problems related to ballistic performance of the RSRM, RSRMV, and related projects. Additionally, the candidate must be able to create test plans with statistical confidence, perform the testing, and report results for the resolution of technical problems. Other skills include knowledge of ATK organization and culture and demonstrated success in previous areas of responsibility. Candidate will be required to provide technical direction and leadership to subordinates. Position Requirements: Candidate must have the following qualifications to be considered for the position; Skills and experience normally acquired through a BS Degree andseven years applicable experience or a MS Degree and five years applicable experience. ATK experience, fluid dynamics coursework, heat transfer coursework, computer programming in Fortran, C++ and Visual Basic as well as CAD experience. Candidate must also demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, concise communication skills, be an aggressive self starter and have an interest in the propulsion field. Also required is a solid rocket motor performance knowledge, fluids and thermo coursework experience, computer programming skills and ATK experience.ATK is on the move.
