Alliant Techsystems (ATK)-Tactical Propulsion and Controls Systems has a challenging opportunity for aMission Assurance Engineer in Elkton, MD. This Division ofATK specializes in the production of tactical propulsion systems. The Mission Assurance Engineer will establish and assure compliance with safety and mission assurance strategies, policies, and standards. The incumbent will support development and deployment of compliant processes and practices. This position performs independent safety and mission assurance assessments and process verification reviews, providing analysis and recommendations for critical program decisions. The Mission Assurance Engineer will provide and support failure analysis processes ensuring that failures are adequately analyzed, appropriate root cause determination is made, and appropriate corrective/preventative action is taken. The Mission Assurance Engineer will work with IPT Mission Assurance working groups, establishing program lessons, learned identification and review processes. Further, the incumbent will participate in program and Mission Assurance reviews, working with customers and MDA. This position is responsible for cultivating Mission Assurance culture through regular briefings and communications to enhance awareness throughout the site.Requirements:BS/MS in Engineering or related technical field is required. Minimum of 5-7 years professional experience working mission assurance efforts. This position requires 25% to 30% travel.Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.Applicants may also be required toobtain a clearance from ATF.
