Engineer, Mechanical

Reporting directly to the Vancouver divisiondirector under limited supervision.


REQUIREMENTS




* Will apply indepth knowledge and application of mechanical engineering principles and concepts to plan anddesign innovative low cost mechanical and electro mechanical mechanisms.

* Will work independently but must also collaborate with other company engineering department teams to design andcreate required mechanisms. 


* Must perform drive calculations for designing various machine elements such a gears, beltdrives, diverters, etc.

* Create 3D CAD models and 2D CAD drawings.

* Test and analyze designs, giving feedback and making changes to designs as needed, perproduct requirements.

* Release designs tofabrication suppliers by scheduled milestones.

* Oversee implementation of designs into the next prototype build for the program.

* Maintain relationships with vendors. Order required parts for specified design components as necessary.

* Modify parts/components as necessary.

* Work closely with other company departments to identify and resolve issues.

* Resolve fits and tolerance related problems in manufacturing and assembly.

* Perform analyses and make recommendations to Senior Team Leaders that affect criticaltechnical initiatives.

* Author and maintain clear documentation on areas of responsibility, as needed.

* Use SolidWorks and OneSpace to createaccurate visual models of mechanical and electro-mechanicalsub-systems.

* Utilize CAD system to create manufacturing-ready sheetmetal, injection molded plastic and machined part files.

* Will createrobust parametric part files and integrate sub-system models into largeassembly files.




QUALIFICATIONS




* Requires minimum Bachelors inMechanical Engineering or related degree plus 5 years progressive experience orMasters in Mechanical Engineering or related degree.


* Requires CAD experiencewith SolidWorks and OneSpace.
