Engineer; Vehicle Dynamics, Control, and Simulation

High tech applied research firm in Torrance, CA has immediate opening for an analytically oriented Engineer with skills in dynamics and control, simulation, and modelling as well as interdisciplinary interests. BS or MS in ME or Aero; with graduate level courses in math, vehicle dynamics, control systems, and structural mechanics; and at least 3 years experience. An ideal candidate would be proficient in or familiar with: MATLAB and other high-level languages (such as FORTRAN, C, C++, or C#), finite element simulations such as LS-DYNA, multi-body simulations such as ATB or MADYMO, statistics, numerical methods, and time domain analysis. A general interest in automobiles, and other vehicles such as motorcycles and ATVs, and hands-on mechanical experience, desirable. Good written and verbal communication skills important.
