Engineering Manager / Director

We are seeking a qualified individual who can effectively lead and develop our Engineering department into a highly focused and solution driven team.

Hargraves Technology is a growing manufacturer of technically advanced electromechanical and fluidic components marketed worldwide. Our focus is on technical innovation to provide “best products” that exhibit superior benefits and value to our customers. Our high quality miniature diaphragm pumps, compressors and solenoid valves are found in a wide range of challenging applications, including medical devices, analytical instrumentation, fuel cell, and industrial systems. We have experienced years of continuous growth due to our leading edge technologies, rapid solutions, and effective sales and marketing efforts, and are seeking to fill the Engineering Manager/Director position.

Job Description:

This position is part of the company’s executive leadership team and report’s directly to the President. As part of the leadership team, your role will be to work with and provide input to the team on New Product Development activities and long-term business strategies to achieve the corporate vision for growth.

The ideal candidate is responsible to manage the overall product development process involving department and cross-functional teams focused on meeting schedules from conception through design and manufacturing of a finished product. This person will directly manage a team of engineers and technicians from several disciplines as well as a number of contract engineering firms.  The ideal candidate will have minimum experience of 5 years engineering management and 5-10 years of proven design/project engineering experience.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): To recruit additional team member as needed to develop a talented and effective engineering team that can meet a demanding fast pace environment.To define, develop and deliver advanced product solutions.  Evaluate and understand customer and market needs, then translate these into product development requirements. Balance customer needs, business objectives, technology, competition, market trends and internal resources against schedule constraints in determining the product roadmap. Responsible for both strategic planning and tactical management in all aspects of the department, including annual budget planning and execution, and resource allocation.

Requirements:

5-10 years proven engineering experience and at least 5 years of department managementBSME; Masters Degree or MBA is Desired Solidworks or solid modeling equivalent MS Project experience or PMP certification helpful Working knowledge of FEA, FMEA, 8D, Validation processes and other related processes

This position is based in Mooresville, NC, just 30 minutes North of Charlotte, NC.
