SUMMARY:

Manage the SBU Engineering unit.  As a member of the SBU staff, establish long and short-term business strategies.  From the business strategies, develop goals and objectives for SBU Engineering team members.  Lead the organization utilizing Corporate Engineering best practices, such as Project Management, DFM, DFA, FMEA, etc.  Manage a team of 3 to 15 direct reports and provide guidance and support for both Asia and Europe.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

▪  Grow revenue through modifications and custom product development.

▪  Improve productivity of the engineering effort as measured by $ revenue generated per person.

▪  Reduce the cycle time required to produce a solution to meet customers’ needs as measured by elapsed time from request to preliminary, formal, prototypes, and first order.

▪  Utilize corporate best practices in executing Customer Engineering programs.

▪  Develop industry knowledge and expertise within the unit to support the value adding process to the customer.

▪  As a member of the SBU staff, develop strategy, review annual business plans, provide monthly summaries, etc.

▪  Communicate and obtain buy-in on project status and requirements to stakeholders outside the development group.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

▪  BS in Engineering / MBA preferred.

▪  6 -15 years engineering experience.

▪  Minimum 5 years supervisory experience preferred.

▪  Excellent communication, problem solving, organizational and planning skills.

▪  Strong problem solving/decision making skills.

▪  Demonstrated ability as a self-starter.
