Explore the opportunity of world-changing work available to you below.The person filling this position will oversee the people, processes, and utilization of tools relating to the material control function for all Engineering disciplines within CH2M HILL, be part of the support structure for procurement and materials management, and will assist in advocating, implementing and maintaining the engineering interfaces to these systems. The global procurement and material management system is comprised of Smart Plant Materials Management (SPMM, also formerly known as MARIAN) and plant design tools including Autoplant (AP3D), Intergraph PDS and Plant Space (PSDS).  Future interfaces will include support for facilities and infrastructure projects and will likely use other design tools in addition to these. SPMM is a material management system used to facilitate CH2M HILL’s supply chain management process.Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:1. Understanding the engineering materials workflow and interfaces within an EPC project utilizing the SPMM and database oriented design and engineering tools.2. Develop and maintain engineering material control processes and procedures for each of the engineering disciplines.3. Assisting with the planning, configuration, and rollout of the processes and system on client projects.4. Assisting with the training of project personnel in the use of SPMM and the engineering materials workflow processes.5. Participate (along with Project Management, Project Controls, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) in project requisition and PO planning activities in order to establish the schedule for project requisition activities, all disciplines.6. Take the lead role in working with Business Groups and projects within these Business Groups to communicate, foster and train staff in the procurement processes utilized within the CH2M HILL project design process.7. Work with the Business Groups to establish the roles necessary and coordinate training and deployments necessary to establish the engineering/procurement workflow processes within these Business Groups.  Establish roles in the BGs to accommodate the following roles and tasks;  Smart Plant reference Data Coordinator, Project Specification Engineer and Project Engineering Bill of Material and Requisition Originator.8. Work with discipline leads within Business Groups to communicate and train discipline personnel in the processes for bill of material generation, materials specification generation, standard specification modification and generation of material requisitions. Work with these discipline personnel to familiarize them with the requisitioning, approval and materials tracking processes utilized by SPMM.9. Monitor the engineering materials process and systems utilization as they are deployed on projects to ensure correct and consistent approach and application across the company.QualificationsA bachelors degree and a minimum of 10 years related work experience is required.Preferred Qualifications: In addition to the above required qualification, our top candidate has a solid working knowledge of engineering materials and design processes, engineering specifications, and design automation tools (CAD/CAE).
