Environmental Control Specialist

*** This position is located at the LSI Red River Army Depot maintenance facility *****This position requires a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening. *Applicants must have Valid State Drivers License.*In order to access to the Depot all covered individuals will be required to have the ability to obtain security clearance. Knowledge in specialized handling and storage procedures of hazardous materials as required by regulation and safety requirements. Hazwhopper Certified required. High school diploma or GED and specific training and thorough knowledge in the particular area of facility maintenance, plus a broad knowledge of other disciplines such as general math, etc.Good written and spoken communication and analytical skills. Knowledge of applicable state and Federal laws and company policies and procedure. A minimum of 5 years of documented, verifiable work experience is required.Knowledge in specialized handling and storage procedures of hazardous materials as required by regulation and safety requirements. Hazwhopper Certified, Class A CDL licensed - Hazmat Endorsement Required and Confined Space Entry.Hours: Must be available for any shift. Willing to work weekends and other hours as needed.Salary for this position is $22.98 per hour. No relocation or Per Diem paid. Job Description : Performs environmental compliance inspections/audits throughout the depot and tenant industrial operations (i.e., paint booths, bag house dust collectors, chemical vats, waste containers, etc.). Investigates and studies use of chemicals in operational processes.Collects and inputs information submitted by depot painters into an automated tracking system. Inspects groundwater monitoring wells for physical condition and repair as necessary. Repairs may include painting the casing or protective posts, replacing locks, submission of work orders for structural repairs, etc. Operating Motor Vehicles such as but not limited to Semi-Tractor Trailer 40 FT moving Roll Off containers, Operating Pump Truck. Transporting Hazardous Materials & Hazardous Waste on and off Depot.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualified candidates must apply online to be considered for a position.
