Explore the opportunity of world-changing work available to you below.CH2M HILL's Chicago, Illinois office is growing and we are currently looking for an Environmental Engineer, Geologist or Hydrogeologist with 6 plus years of experience to join our Environmental Services Group. The candidate will be responsible for managing project tasks, planning and supporting remedial investigation, and remedial/landfill design activities.  Strong technical background in a variety of remedial actions/designs and/or landfill design is a plus.  Typical office tasks the candidate will task-manage, plan and implement include: remedial and/or landfill design, remedial process optimization, data evaluation, and report writing.  Typical field activities the candidate will task-manage, plan and implement include: remedial system installation, directing subcontractors during investigation, remediation, and construction, documenting site activities, and sampling various media. This position consists of up to 25% fieldwork and/or travel.QualificationsThe selected candidate must have a B.S. in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering or a BS in Geology or Hydrogeology. The candidate should have 6 plus years of field and/or remedial/landfill design and implementation experience, field team leadership, and task management in site investigations and remediation, and OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training. Preferred Qualifications: Candidate should have prior consulting experience and be a versatile, aggressive progessional that wants to work on a variety of different projects and has the ability to learn new skills quickly with minimal guidance of others. Candidate should be able to interact with teams spread over multiple offices. Candidates should possess the attributes and be a team player, be eager to learn and grow, and be a self starter that takes initiative and has a service mentality. Strong communication skills are required to communicate effectively with contractors, project team, project manager, and other stakeholders.
