Environmental Manager
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:Bachelors degree in business or related field; 10 years of job related experience. Must be familiar with current regulations and requirement. Must have previous supervisory/management experience. Excellent analytical and communication skills; Must have a valid driver's license and may be required to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Job Description : This position is contingent upon award of the Institutional Support Services contract located at Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, expected to start in the September 2008 time frame. Position may require employment during the proposal phase starting in June, 2007. Directs and Coordinates the overall function of the Environmental Management Department. Essential Responsibilities:1. Ensure the overall successful operation of the Environmental Management and Lab Support. 2. Manage staff and resources for the environmental management function. 3. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the overall effective environmental management program to support the initiatives and directives of the customer. 4. Oversee the annual compliant self-assessment in all aspects of the 16 programmatic areas. Prepare and implement Corrective Action Plans for instances of non-conformance identified in self-assessment and inspections. 5. Ensure compliance with permits, regulatory standards and standard management practices including but not limited to sample collection, monitoring, records keeping, report preparation, training, inspections, data reporting, etc. Review and assess impacts of existing and proposed regulations. Develop procedures to meet new and changing regulations. 6. Administer on-site and off-site hazardous waste activities. 7. Oversee the tracking and reporting system for the government as required. Oversee the preparation of regulatory reporting requirements (i.e., recycling, RCRA, CWA, EPCRA, CAA pollution prevention etc.). 8. Direct the development of training, environmental outreach, and pollution prevention programs. 9. Participate with the customer to assist in supporting the strategic direction of the environmental management department. 10. Act as the liaison with EG&G, other contractors and the customer for planning, implementing and coordinating logistics initiatives.
