This position will be filled with an experienced planner who has a broad knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures in the field of environmental planning. This position will be based in Colorado, but will involve occasional work on projects with other offices. Occasional travel, including field work and meetings or other activities outside standard work hours will be required.Key Duties:* Supervises and evaluates the work of team members, including writing and editing publications (to include technical reports and CEQA/NEPA environmental documents). * Provide guidance in area of technical specialty to junior staff.* Contribute to cultivating client relationships, all phases of business development, and identifying new and repeat business opportunities.* Plan, organize and direct project assignments, manage budgets and schedules, and develop scope and cost estimates.QualificationsQualified candidate will have:- Bachelors degree in Planning, Environmental Science, Geography, OR in a technical or business discipline;- A minimum of 6 years progressive experience with developing, producing, and managing NEPA documentation, as well as the ability to demonstrate the capability of applying NEPA regulations to a wide variety of projects;- Skilled at managing environmental documents (FONSI, EA, EIS) and directing other technical specialists to complete technical reports and sections of an environmental document;- Demonstrated experience as the technical lead for significant environmental documents such as large EA documents or EISs;- Demonstrated experience leading the preparation of the purpose and need sections, and alternatives sections of environmental documents;- A significant amount of the requisite experience would be in preparation of environmental documentation on behalf of the Department of the Defense;- The breadth of environmental planning experience will be evaluated.
