Experienced Tower Technicians (Tower Hands), Sweep Technicians

Paul L. Whitney & Associates, Inc. is looking for full time Tower Hands, (top hands), to expand our wireless operations.  Daily tasks include QC and sweeping of new and existing PCS/Cellular communications sites, installing antennas and coax, inspecting, servicing, and upgrading tower mounted components for major carriers.  The applicant must have the training and be physically capable of climbing structures over 300 feet.  Some travel will be required with eligibility for per diem while traveling.

 

 

No extended out-of -town stays, occasional weekend/overtime work is required. 

 

Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass pre-employment and random drug screen testing. 

 

 

 

Duties:

 

Pick up and delivery of materials as needed.

Completion of equipment checks, job hazard analysis and other safety related documentation.

Installation of antennas, coax, tower mounted amplifiers and accessories.

Weatherproofing of cables and connectors.

Performance of maintenance and repairs on tower mounted equipment.

Verification of antenna model and serial numbers, downtilt and azimuth.

Performance of additional job related functions which may become necessary.

 

 

 

Required prerequisites and experiences:

 

Ability to climb structures (monopoles amd SS towers) over 300 feet.

Willingness to travel and WORK.

High school graduate or equivalent.

Tower construction or related experience necessary.

Must have “hands-on” experience in tower rigging.

Must possess or be able to acquire effective troubleshooting skilla.

Must be able to fill out a timesheet and other documentation as needed. 

 

Current certifications for Commscope, Andrew, Eupen, Anritsu, and familiarity with test equipment are a plus but not a requirement

 

Certified Safety training within the last two years is a must .
