FORCE PROTECTION SPECIALIST

FORCE PROTECTION SPECIALIST I       SUMMARY: This position involves performing various assessments and evaluations.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Experience in National Guard, Army or Marine Corps Physical Security, Antiterrorism, OPSEC, and Force Protection.  Military background and training/experience in all or some of the following areas:  Force protection program management, vulnerability/risk/threat/criticality assessments, report development, contingency planning, drills/exercises, physical security inspections, infrastructure, training (development and proctoring), executive protection, electronic security systems, and guard-force management.   QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.    Good writing and organization skills a must.  DoD-recognized antiterrorism training required; security engineering design, physical security, and electronic security systems training a definite plus.  Candidates should be familiar with DoD, National Guard, Army, Marine Corps regulations and guidance as they relate to the above skill sets.   EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Individualsshould have a college degree in a related field with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or an equivalent of professional experience with certifications. (A degree in Homeland Security/Defense, Emergency Management preferred). Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license.   LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and governmental regulations. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from project staff, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management, clients, and/or public groups.    REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.   The candidate is expected to travel extensively to client sites and/or project locations nationwide as part of their essential duties.
