Day to Day Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the BSD SP Electrical Trades organization

- Provide 2nd level troubleshooting and have the ability to provide sound electrical direction

- Interact with multiple departments, organizations and personnel levels to meet customer  needs

- Lead Facilities Planning group

- Engage with, participate in, and lead by example for safety programs and initiatives

- Coordinate, schedule, and communicate activity to ensure the least amount of disruption to SP Community

- Become familiar with process and facility systems, such as HVAC, Electric, Piping, etc, and engage /utilize system owners when needed

- Support existing processes (ie: SCR’s, shutdowns) to approve, validate and document needed infrastructure changes

- Facilitate/lead weekly communication meetings with Facilities Trades group

- Audit P-card transactions and recording

- Support department budgets, become familiar with PeopleSoft, ability to enter POs

- Assess and recommend tooling needs, support material recycling efforts

- Support effective and efficient utilization of resources – personnel and equipment

- Interact and participate in various other BSD projects and events as needed

- Daily planning / scheduling/ communication meetings within Facilities group

- Work closely with Mechanical and Housekeeping Supervisors, providing back up as necessary

- Manage daily time cards and union issues; documenting as appropriate

- Provide estimates of cost

- Attend daily department meetings

 

Projects involved with:

- Green Belt certification, support, engage and provide leadership on PEx projects

 

Role within group:

- Supervisor of approximately 20-25 Electrical Trades personnel. 

- Provides key contact for trades resources and support staff.

- Supports and closely works with Mechanical Trades

- Supervisor and engineering group.

- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings designs and provide input and direction to personnel

 

Education:

- 4 year Electrical Engineering Degree

 

Knowledge of:

- Electrical distribution systems

- Controls

- Follow-up and documentation skills

- Experience working with and directing union employees

- Must be well organized and capable of handling multiple tasks and priorities

- Change Facilitator - challenges status quo and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement

- Must be results oriented, self starter, requiring minimal supervision

 

Desired Skills:

- Experience with working with Corning Trades

- Familiarity with Tabware

- Production background
