Description:
• Assist sales directors, from a technical perspective, in identifying and qualifying sales opportunities that are likely prospects for the products and services provided by the company • Develop, nurture and maintain trusted relationships with senior level engineering managers and executives at named strategic, key and focus customers (including prospective customers) located within the assigned territory. • Develop, nurture and maintain solid, congenial, collaborative, productive working relationships with key internal stake holders including members of the companies engineering, system architecture, product management and marketing organizations. • Create and articulate technical solutions that utilize company products and services for customer development . • Confidently and comfortably present technical solutions to key customer personnel responding “real time” to customer technical concerns and questions in a knowledgeable articulate manner that reflects a comprehensive understanding of our products as well as related industry technologies, applications and platforms. • Develop supportive world class written proposals and associated presentation foils. • Achieve specified annual sales goals. • Partner with assigned Sales Directors to ensure that required company databases are maintained at a territory level in a manner that is timely, comprehensive and accurate [company databases include, but are not limited to, sales opportunity funnel, sales forecast, and customer relationship management data]. • Operate with the highest level of integrity both externally and internally. • Operate within an assigned budget, ensuring that all territory expenditures are within corporate guidelines. • Assume additional responsibilities that may, from time-to-time, be assigned by the Vice President, Field Operations or other members of the leadership team.

Requirements:
• Four year college degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum 3.5 or equivalent GPA; Masters Degree in either engineering or business is strongly desired. [Note: work experience will not be considered as an alternative for formal education.] • Ten years in progressively more responsible (product breadth and depth, project complexity, account size) field sales engineering assignments in which increasingly substantial annual sales goals have been achieved. [Note: all ten years of experience must include extensive direct interaction with customers; it is strongly desired that the candidate have at least 3 years recent employment with a direct competitor of the company.] • Three years experience in direct involvement in designing or specifying high availability hardware platforms for customers building or procuring systems for development and deployment with the telecommunications industry; similar experience with telecommunications protocol stacks is strongly desired but under no circumstances will be considered as an alternative to high availability hardware platform experience. • Three years tenure in an industry assignment that required utilization of a superior, broad understanding of system architectures used within the telecommunications industry including key network components and protocols covering traditional SS7 telephony, broadband, 2.5G and 3G wireless, and VOIP applications. • A comprehensive understanding of the markets served and the technologies offered by the company. • Oral and written fluency in English and (as appropriate) at least one other language native to the region. • A working knowledge of local business practices and traditions as well as laws and regulations that will impact the company’s ability to operate within the assigned region. • An ability and willingness to travel extensively, sometimes on short notice. • An ability and willingness to function in the position as required by the needs of the business during extended hours, including nights, weekends, holidays and scheduled vacations.
