Field Service/Electronics Technician

Qualifications:   Technical Degree in Electronics and Computers.  Candidate must have a minimum of two (2) years related work experience; ability to troubleshoot electronic systems in the field and at a workbench.  This position requires driving a company-owned vehicle.  A valid driver’s license and acceptable report from the state Department of Motor Vehicles is required to qualify for this position.  Candidate must be able to speak and understand the English language.

 

Description of Work:    Candidate will troubleshoot and repair electromechanical equipment to the component level in the field and at the bench.  Must be able to solder, use hand tools and electronic test equipment.  Must also be familiar with all aspects of desktop computers and be able to troubleshoot down to board level. Have some knowledge of networking and capable knowledge of network cabling. Candidate must be knowledgeable of computer operating systems and capable of installing and configuring new software. This position will require some heavy lifting of equipment (up to 50 pounds) from time to time.

 

Candidate must be available for all shifts to cover a 24/7 operation.  This position includes on-call time and requires the individual to travel to various work sites in a specific time frame.  Due to the nature of this work, candidate must reside in one of the five boroughs of New York City.
