Field Support Engineer

Come join this well-funded company as it grows to the next level. Field Support Engineer required to serve two very key responsibilities: • Customer Location Support as needed o Troubleshoot WiMAX (802.16d and 802.16e) equipment around the world. o Train Customers as required • Richmond, VA - Based in Richmond, VA to support Quality Assurance testing responsibilities as part of the design/development process Duties and Responsibilities include: • Customer Locations o Ability to travel to customer locations around the world – Cumulative travel up to 50% o Function as the Primary Interface with the customer while Troubleshooting /Diagnosing equipment problems. o Communicate information back to engineering for issue resolution o Develop and coordinate product training classes for customers • Richmond, VA o Author test plans based upon product requirements o Execute Test Plans o Document and Analyze ResultsEducation: • BS in related technical discipline or other relevant education and equivalent experience • AAS acceptable with equivalent experience Experience: • 5 yr. related experience • Related experience can include Wireless ISP, Cellular, as well as other networking experience Language Skills: • English Salary: • Competitive Salary, Commensurate with Experience • Competitive Benefits Package • Relocation OK Reasoning Ability: • High Reasoning, troubleshooting, and critical thinking skills. Technical Skills: • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Knowledge of how to utilize networking test equipment to determine next steps o Smartbits o Spectrum Analyzer o Signal Generator o HP Openview NNM • Knowledge of Network Protocols (SNMP, TCP, UDP, etc) • Scripting Background – PERL, Python, TCL, etc. • RF Systems Experience • WiMAX Experience is a plus – 802.16d, 802.16e Physical Demands: • Frequent Travel • Lift 25 lb.
