Explore the opportunity of world-changing work available to you below.We are currently seeking a Fire Systems Technician for our client site in San Jose.This position requires knowledge of NFPA codes and regulations.Responsibilities include:-  Work with FE on new and start-up of fire protection systems (pre-testing of new fire alarm devices, SJFD final inspection of fire alarm devices, etc…)-  Adjust flow, pressure and tamper switches (as needed)-  Trouble shoot fire alarm problems and reset fire alarm panels-  Maintain and able to program Notifier panels and make nomenclature changes on same and the main computer located at the Security console.-  Report all known fire alarm problems to the Site Fire Marshal and/or Security-  Replace broken PIV pins (as needed)-  Assist with annual Factory Mutual Insurance company inspections-  Assist Security with annual inspections of manual pull boxes and smoke detectors-  Assist Site Fire Marshal in emergency situations-  Assist with underground fire water breaks and reported leaks inside buildings.-  Coordinate with sub-contractors to implement fixes, repairs and testing-  Train new Security Officers on fire systems, devices and inspections-  Back-up for site's Fire Marshall-  Ensure monthly written report on all activities performed is completed in a timely manner and given to Site Fire Marshal-  Maintain (update as needed) all fire equipment & device inspection forms. These forms are: Smoke Detector, Pull Box, PIV exercise & visual, ITV’s, OS&Y, Fire Pump, Main Drain and Fire Hydrants-  Keep tracker on all inspections of fire equipment-  Keep tracker on all repairs of fire equipment-  Maintain files for each building-  Assist with the fire equipment inspections and tests-  Track the Halon, CO2 and Kitchen Hood fire suppression systems ensuring the inspections are completed on time-  Maintain the fire equipment inspection binders-  Responsible for all inspection forms used and making any new forms the department may needQualificationsThis position requires a minimum 5 years experience in Fire System Maintenance.Educational requirments: HS diploma or GEDBenefits: Medical and Dental Plans Health Care and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance Short Term and Long Term Disability Income 401(k) Plan with company match Employee Ownership Paid Time Off Program Flexible Work Scheduling Business Casual Dress Learning and Development Opportunities Tuition ReimbursementEmployee Assistance Program Voluntary Auto and Homeowners InsuranceCompany Profile:Employee-owned CH2M HILL is a global leader in engineering, procurement, construction and operations for public and private clients.
