GIS Specialist

LimnoTech is the industry leader in developing and applying the latest scientific advances to effectively solve client problems in environmental assessment, management, remediation, and regulatory compliance.  We provide the solid foundation that clients use to make decisions that affect the water environment.  We are looking to expand the staff of our Ann Arbor, Michigan office by adding a GIS specialist who has an interest in water resources.

 

 

 

Primary responsibilities of the GIS specialist include: Supporting a wide variety of water resources projects that involve watershed characterization and modeling, stormwater management, water quality assessment, hydrologic analysis, or contaminated sediment assessment. Compiling, creating, managing, and manipulating spatial databases that are accurate, reliable, and timely. Designing maps that effectively convey important environmental information to co-workers, clients, regulators, and the public.

 

At a minimum, the candidate hired to fill this position will have the following: Bachelor’s degree in geography, geosciences, planning, environmental engineering, or a related field.  A master’s degree would be a major plus. Extensive experience and comfort working with ArcGIS, including extensions such as Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst. A strong sense for cartographic design that effectively conveys important information in appropriate contexts. Initiative, dedication, and great attention to detail. Motivation to grow their role in our company. Legal ability to work in the United States (proper identification required)
