GIS Specialist II

The Houston Office of Michael Baker Jr., Inc. employs a diversified staff of  professionals experienced in engineering design for the transportation and civil infrastructure markets.  Baker-Houston provides services which include environmental clearance and project development, mapping and GIS, water resources, transportation engineering design and management, and facilities.  Major clients include: Texas Department of Transportation, Grand Parkway Association, City of Houston, Harris County, Federal Emergency Management Administration, Metropolitan Transit Authority and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Qualifications required for the GIS Specialist II  include four-year degree in either Engineering or GIS/Geography and 5-7 years of GIS experience.  Should have experience with ArcView, ArcInfo, and ArcGIS and strong scripting experience with Visual Basic and Avenue.  Experience with FEMA Flood Insurance Study and FEMA Mapping Products is required.  Experience with FEMA DFIRM Tools; ArcSDE, Map Objects, Spatial Analyst, 3D-Analyst, and LiDAR Data processes is a plus.  Position could require the supervision of four to six GIS mapping personnel
