Fusion Welding Solutions is seeking a highly motivated-self starting GMAW Engineer with strong leadership abilities to plan, consult, coordinate and perform design, manufacturing and process engineering work for a project or process of limited scope. In this position you will:

 Develop GMAW welding engineering solutions for customers to improve first-time-through, up-time, quality and through-put.Use root cause analysis to trouble shoot & support existing GMAW welding lines.Identify and implement cost reduction, quality, safety, and ergonomic improvement ideas of limited scope. Engineering support for estimating, design, and buildUnderstands customer procedures and specificationsTroubleshoot all types and variation of welding applicationsVerify that all welding tools have the capability of producing quality welds as designedDetermine equipment sizing and selectionMaintain relationship with customers regarding welding  processes and proceduresVerify proposed design configurations to meet customer specificationsVerify welding ability with coupons, sheet metal, and weld destruct.  Support program design, build and launchImplement new manufacturing processes and technologies. Travel is required.Possible relocation.

EducationDegree in Welding Engineering, Welding Technologies, and/or equivalent work experiences.

Required Skills and Experience2-10 years of GMAW welding experience ideally in manufacturing environment.Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality, weld tooling, and tool design. Deep Understanding and Knowledge of GMAW welding.Experience with managing project timelines on a limited scope. MS Office Skills (Word, Excel).

Desired Skills and ExperienceExperience with Military GMAW specifications and GMAW of heavy gauge materials.Knowledge and troubleshooting experience with Resistance Spot Welding.Understanding of Lean Manufacturing. Experience in one or more related engineering areas: manufacturing, industrial, production, design. Experience with line and process design and material presentation.Experience with CAD and/or Pro/E. Ability to speak and read Spanish a plusCertified Six Sigma Black Belt.
