Mid-Continent/Alaska Business Unit is accepting online applications for the position of Geological-Engineering Technical Assistant located in Midland, Texas.Overview:The Mid-Continent/Alaska Business Unit is soliciting candidates for a Geological-Engineering Technical Assistant position to support reservoir management and project development activities in the Permian Asset Development Team. The employee will work closely with a team of engineers, earth scientists and project managers involved in identifying, developing and executing a variety of projects. The candidate must be capable of handling a diverse workload and multiple tasks. Qualifications:Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:• Assist in the development of capital and expense projects involved in field development and operations. • Create, maintain and query databases on multiple platforms for use in reservoir analysis. • Assist in reservoir analysis project development. • Create technical presentations using available computer applications. • Demonstrate ability in either UNIX or PC workstation applications.Required (Basic) Qualifications:• Experience with computer applications, including spreadsheets, word processing, database, and graphics (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint).• Advanced database management experience with production databases and other more advanced applications, i.e. DSS, PEEP/DTree, MS Project and SAP.• Teamwork/collaborative relationship skills. The ability to foster cooperation and collaboration among work group, peers and business partners. • The ability to effectively manage time and resources to ensure success. Prioritize, make preparations, plan/schedule and leverage resources. Identify and define key responsibilities with little supervision. Manage multiple tasks without difficulty. Delivers work on time. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. The ability to clearly convey and decipher the intended message. • Special technical skills. Experience with engineering and/or geologic applications related to reserves accounting, production databases, reservoir information systems and Geologic and Geophysical applications.
