Geologist 2

CDM has an immediate need for a Geologist in our Houston, Texas office. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
o Environmental data collection; field sampling preparation and implementation; soil, water, and groundwater sampling
o Sample preparation and shipment to analytical laboratory.
o Analytical laboratory coordination
o Site monitoring equipment use
o Water quality equipment use
o Subsurface drilling, subsurface soil sample collection, monitoring well installation oversight of drilling contractor.
o Soil gas sampling and oversight of soil gas subcontractor
o Enforcement of safety practices
o Field sampling plan development and implementation
o Field report writing; geologic conditions description
o Boring log and geologic cross section development

 

This position requires a BS (MS preferred) degree in Geology or Earth Science and one year of relevant experience. Candidate who has Geology registration or is on track for geology registration preferred. Some lifting of heavy objects (e.g., sample coolers) and equipment will be required. Knowledge of commonly used computer software (Word, Excel, and Outlook) expected. Candidate must have excellent writing and communication skills.
