HMI Software Engineer

Role In-vehicle infotainment systems/software engineer, familiar with HMI embedded software development to enhance Pi SHURLOK LLC’s infotainment team in the USA. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical capability both within internal teams and in front of customers, and should be able to work confidently with the customer.

Key Duties Embedded Software Development

· Assess clients’ needs and apply these to developing custom solutions

·  Make suggestions as to the best solution for the customer

·  Understand the requirements for testing embedded software, and apply them

·  Ensure good software practice and process is followed as per the requirements of ISO9001:2000 or Automotive SPICE

Professional Client Liaison

·  Provide customers with remote or on-site engineering interface

·  Project commissioning support at Client sites

·  Support business development team

·  Able to travel domestically and internationally where appropriate

Required Skills  2-5+ years in a vehicle cockpit, audio or infotainment environment, in particular HMI development

  2-5+ years software design and development using ‘C’ in a structured, quality-aware environment (ISO 9001 / CMM Level 2 or higher)

Knowledge of Real-Time software design and implementation on embedded platforms

Appreciation of good System Specification & Requirements Capture

Working knowledge of vehicle communication protocols

 

Complimentary Skills  UML, DOORS

  MOST, CAN, Wireless

  RDS, DAB, SDARS

Broad understanding of automotive system architectures

 

Personal  A degree in software / electronic engineering

  Highly self motivated individual with a can do attitude

  Close attention to detail

Well organised

  Excellent communicator, both written and verbal

Able to work well in a team environment, as well as work independently
