Join ViaSat’s team in Carlsbad, California and help to continue ViaSat’s growth and leadership in the communications field.Candidate will be responsible for the design, test, and integration of digital boards (CCAs/PWAs). Candidate must understand system level communications and networking requirements and translate these requirements into a hardware architecture. Candidate must have excellent understanding high-speed digital design, signal integrity, power distribution, and complex packaging.Candidate will fully document design details, hold design reviews, and perform schematic capture of the approved design. Candidate will be responsible for providing detailed instructions and oversight of the board layout, and will verify the design by generating and executing all necessary test plans. Will work closely with FPGA and software engineers during test and integration.Experience/Skills Required The successful candidate will have 5+ years experience in hardware development for digital networking or communications equipment.  Experience should include high-speed digital design of boards with up to 20 layers, blind and buried vias, fine pitch BGAs, high I/O count FPGAs, low voltage differential signaling, and up to 500 Mhz clock rates. Schematic capture tool experience with OrCAD or equivalent desired. Simulation tools experience with Hyperlynx or equivalent is a plus. Strong lab test and debug skills are required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Bachelor’s degree required.
