Put your hardware engineering experience to practical use designing and implementing these next generation communications products and systems. The candidate will be responsible for leading and managing a team of 14-18 electrical, programmable logic, and mechanical engineers through the hardware development lifecycle for complex government communications systems with embedded processors. Responsibilities include requirements specification, hardware architecture and design, hardware and programmable logic implementation, system integration, test, and transition to production. Additional responsibilities include daily direction of the hardware team activities, creating and maintaining cost and schedule plans, risk identification and mitigation, coordinating integration activities with ViaSat and customer teams, and communicating status to management and the customer. Must have strong communication skills and be able to work in a team environment as well as facilitate flow of information between engineering, management, and the customer. This is a leadership position on a large engineering development and includes line management responsibilities.Experience/Skills Required The successful candidate will have 8+ years experience in hardware design and development. Team leadership and management experience is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. A bachelor’s degree required.
