Hardware Quality Assurance Engineer

The Role:
Following the launch of our first product, Lab 126 is hiring a hardware quality assurance engineer in order to assist the design team by maintaining and updating a hardware test plan per each new design team or per each sustaining project; This individual is also expected to handle an increasing amount of regulatory test/compliance role to support the new product design or a sustained product as this company grows. This individual will take ownership of working closely with the design team and making timely recommendation to improve the product design due to previous test failures.

As elements of your daily work, you will: Work within the hardware groupAssemble and compile a hardware test plan per input from internal inter-disciplinary team.Drive ODM or CM to ensure all hardware tests are performed on time per each design phaseTrack and analyze hardware test results internally or from the development partnerDebug and find root cause to the HW test failures uncovered from the testing cycle.Report to hardware development team the latest, up-to-date hardware test results.Maintain and keep up to date all the hardware test results by working with the local test lab or ODM/CM closely.Be conversant with regulatory and RF engineering test requirements.Run hardware tests at the local test lab to confirm a new EE or mechanical design or redesign.Participate in the weekly conference calls either directly or with the design team, with the ODM or CM.Support the design and validation for any changes required (continuous improvements, cost reductions, obsolescence)Plan and execute any validation required for PCB spinsPlan and manage the roll-in of any changes, and be sure to track the change and test result of any change on the hardware test planWork with and travel to ODM partners in AsiaAttend industry-standard meetings and communicate the key updates to relevant functional groups within the companyPresent test results to internal inter-disciplinary team using PowerPoint or Spreadsheet.RF or wireless product design and testing experiences are required

Required Experience: 5+ years design or HW QA experience on portable consumer electronic devicesBackground in EE or hardware engineeringExperienced in high volume manufacture environmentsDebug, fault-finding or analysis skillsStrong analytical skills including statistical analysis3+ years of experiences with WAN/WiFi compliance testing and requirements Strong with MS Office applications including Excel



Education: Bachelor’s degree with technical focus, Masters Degree Preferred
