Human Factors Engineer

Position:  Specialty Engineer - Human Factors Engineering & Safety Engineering.

Duties: Work as a Specialty Engineer supporting the Lead System Engineer, Project Engineer and others in Systems/Subsystems groups adding new capabilities to the Abram's Tank System. Responsible for overall integration of new concepts with primary emphasis on Human Factors Engineering (HFE), Safety, Man-Machine interface as well as physical integration of new components sub systems into the parent vehicles. Perform hazard analysis of systems (Conceptual, developmental, fielded) to ensure an acceptable level of safety is implemented in the design and throughout the life cycle of all GDLS products. Prepare and interpret System Safety Design Requirements. Work with Design and Development Engineers to accomplish system safety design requirements. Prepare Safety Assessment Reports to document the safety evaluation and risk assumed prior to operation/test of a system. Investigate and prepare Fire and Accident Reports and Notices on produced vehicles.

Requirements: Interpersonal/Social skills Bachelor's Degree required in Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical or Systems Engineering. Significant prototype shop or manufacturing experience may be accepted in lieu of degree. 1 - 15 Years of related experience. Experience using Pro-E, CAD, SolidWorks, or similar computer solid modeling software is preferred Drafting/Design experience is required Familiar with manufacturing and assembly processes Ability to obtain military vehicle entry authorization required Must have good oral and written communication skills Some US and foreign travel may be required Must be a US citizen, able to obtain a secret clearance Ability to operate as a team member with other company stakeholders
