Industrial Engineer - Efficiency Improvement Program Coordinator - Memphis, TN

  About the OpportunityThis individual carries the responsibility of driving Kenco’s Efficiency Improvement Program (EIP).  EIP is Kenco’s work measurement program that is a vital key in achieving operational excellence.  The individual ensures that the policies and procedures of EIP are followed by management and associates at the warehouse, and directs the daily activities required to ensure the continued maintenance and success of EIP.  About the Position The EIP Coordinator is responsible for, but not limited to, functions related to the day-to-day operation of the Efficiency Improvement Program.  Enter data into the EIP database as accurately and as quickly as possible. Ensure that reports are generated and given to management in a timely manner.  Report to Business Improvement Manager when % Performance or % Utilization numbers look unusually high or low for an activity. Assisting management in identifying individuals that should receive observations, either because they are new hires, temporaries, new to different functions, are not meeting acceptable % Performance levels, or are exceeding % Performance consistently. Create observation schedule for all supervisory staff and report to BI manager if they are not meeting minimum requirements. Entering observation data into EIP Database on a daily basis. Generating observation reports weekly. Distributing observation reports to appropriate management.  Managers that should receive weekly observation reports include: General Manager Business Improvement Manager Senior Operations Managers Operations Managers Supervisors If observations appear to be partially complete, or if there is evidence that an observation has been either copied or falsified, that information needs to be communicated to appropriate management (BI Manager & Operations Manager). Review Tracking Sheets before information is entered into the EIP DATABASE. Incomplete or inaccurate sheets should be returned to the responsible supervisor. Work with various EIP Coordinators within the Kenco network to continuously improve EIP at the facility. Analysis of EIP data which lead to action items which will continually improve warehouse efficiencies. Best Methods development and cost reduction leadership Work measurement development, implementation and program maintenance. Qualifications/Education/Relevant Experience Industrial Engineering Degree Required Experience in warehousing and logistics environments – preferred. Experience with MOST (Maynard Operational Sequence Technique) or other predetermined standards methodology a plus. Excellent interpersonal skills, self-directed and motivated, readily assumes ownership of facility and drives toward total customer satisfaction.  Works well under pressure with accuracy and follows up on mistakes, if made, to ensure customer satisfaction.  Advanced skills in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Access. Must possess the leadership skills needed to assess data on a daily basis and provide direction.  Ability to identify critical paths and execute.  Involvement with senior management both internally and externally
